Militants kidnap 300 students, others in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) – Taliban militants kidnapped about 300 students, teachers and their relatives traveling in a convoy of mini-buses in Pakistan's restive northwestern region Monday, police said.

"Driver of one of the vehicles managed to escape and students reported to us that their colleagues have been kidnapped by Taliban," Razaq Khan, a police official in Bakka Kheil village near the North Waziristan tribal region told Reuters.
